“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.”

The Lord has equipped everyone of us as believers with a spiritual gift or set of gifts, and He distributes them as He sees fit. Some are gifted with wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, prophecy, speaking in tongues, and so on. They are all the work of the same Spirit, which is orchestrated throughout the body of the Church. We are a unified unit within the kingdom of God; we are made up of many parts, but still consist of one body. There are feet, hands, eyes, and so forth; and every part is arranged by God as he wants them. No one part can say that it does not need the other and it should not be envious of the role or position of another part. The ones that seem to be weaker are indispensable and the ones thought to be less honorable, in fact, are treated with special honor. There should be no division in the body and we should all have concern for everyone else. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, then every part rejoices with it. We are all appointed by God for a specific role and we are all to eagerly desire the greater gifts.
