"Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy."

 

    Paul speaks to the Corinthians that we are to love and desire every spiritual gift, but especially the gift of prophecy. It is a gift that strengthens, encourages, and comforts men. It is a gift that builds up the church and it is something that is greater than speaking in tongues. The gift of tongues is something that edifies the spirit, but does not edify the mind. Paul goes onto say that He is thankful of his proficiency in tongues, but would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than to speak ten thousand words in a tongue. So become indwelled with the spirit, speak in tongues to God, and prophesy to others. Let us be a church that looks to lift up, stand firm, and never back down.
